And on Friday, Queen’s College honoured those top students with a ‘Day of Celebration’ alongside the school’s annual Market Day.
“It’s very special to me that we’re actually getting recognition for our hard work.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen this done for another year prior so I hope that the school continues to appreciate its students in this way,” Riley, who was a top CSEC Accounting Student in 2021, told the News Room.
The school’s Principal Candaice Cave- Stephens said that it was quite a remarkable feat that the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) awarded Queen’s College the ‘School of the Year’ title in consecutive years.
She commended the hard work of the teachers, parents and students who all worked to ensure that all of the students were able to study diligently and excel at their examinations.
Meanwhile, Minister of Priya Manickchand emphasised that the Education Ministry is working to ensure that schools across Guyana can offer world-class education, so that many more Guyanese students achieve such remarkable feats.

She also highlighted, as she has done before, that the ministry will be working towards ensuring that all schools can deliver the same quality of education to their learners.
