With British airways preparing to begin its schedule service between Georgetown and London from next March, several officials from the company are currently in Guyana to lay the ground work for the March 2023 take-off.
Today, the officials met and held discussions with Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill who holds responsibility for the aviation sector.
In a brief statement, Minister Edghill said he urged the airline officials to continue practicing safety and reliability as they prepare for the Guyana market.
He reminded them that travelers are always in need of a reliable service and he is hoping that British Airways will not disappoint the Guyana market.
The Ministry of Public Works said the British Airways official expressed the airline’s delight in its move to the Guyana market.
British Airways is the flag carrier of the United Kingdom and an award winning airline.
It will begin its Guyana service with twice weekly flights which will make brief stops in St. Lucia.
The Guyana Government is hoping that the service will see more visitors from the United Kingdom heading Guyana’s way.
British Airways currently operates in a number of Caribbean islands including Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
