Buxton teen wanted for murder of Cuban national

Tyrese Blair, an 18-year-old of Buxton, East Coast Demerara is wanted by the Police in relation to the murder of Cuban national Jose Aurelio Ramirez, who was stabbed to death on Sunday.

In a wanted bulletin, Police Headquarters said Blair is wanted for questioning in relation to the murder which occurred on April 13 at Melanie Market Street, East Coast Demerara.

Blair’s last known address is Lot 44 Buxton Middle Walk, ECD.

Ramirez, 54, died after he was stabbed multiple times about his body.

Police earlier confirmed that one suspect was arrested and is custody.

According to a Police report, inquiries revealed that an anti-crime patrol was on duty in the vicinity of the Melanie Market area when they observed an emergency response team from the Melanie Fire Station attending to Ramirez.

He was lying on the road with several suspected stab wounds about his body, including to his chest, rib and chin. Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female Cuban national was with Ramirez. Police said she was not injured but she was questioned and is assisting with investigations.
