In addition to this, Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water Susan Rodrigues said people should be prepared to be amazed and the exciting and transformation displays to be set up.

She revealed that among the major attraction is international companies that will be introducing to Guyana the use of a 3D printer for house plans so people can get miniature models of their houses before it is built.

“The aim is to go beyond the phenomenal work we’re doing at the ministry… it will be exciting and informational… people would be wowed with what they see,” Rodrigues assured those present.

Over 200 local and international companies have already registered to participate in the expo with less than 60 per cent of the available spots remaining.

From a range of sectors and industries, persons can contact the Housing Ministry or make contact with the Building Expo Secretariat to book the booths or become sponsors for the event.

Persons are reminded that the expo is a family event and the Ministry of Housing and Water will also be engaged in its Dream Realised actiities where hundreds of house lot allocations and the distributions of land titles will be done.

Beyond that, the ministry has entered into partnership with several corporate sponsors including E-Networks (the official internet and technology partner for Building Expo), Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), Torginol Paints and Unicomer Guyana (Courts), among others.

Representatives from these companies spoke during the site visit on Friday.

Torginol Paints

Torginol Paints is the official paint provider for the expo having been producing quality paints for over 60 years in Guyana.

The company said it will launch new products supported by new technology and changes in manufacturing processes.

It includes new coatings and supplies for the oil and gas industry to be put on exhibition, coming from research and development undertaken in recent years.

The company will be demonstrating to contractors and home builders practical methods for the applications of its different type of coatings, from surface preparation and finishing.

E- Networks

Managing Director of E-Networks, Vishok Persaud, said with the company being the official internet and technology partner for the expo, persons can expect robust connectivity throughout the venue for the full three days.

According to Persaud, beyond providing the service for the public, exhibitors and the media, E-Networks plans to demonstrate how incorporating technology into a person’s building plans can be cost effective and efficient as smart homes can help to save energy.

“In short, we are going to enable all the technology that is necessary to make the expo a success, to make exhibitors a success and in a general overview, to make the public have access to good and robust connectivity while they are here,” he said.

Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI)

The Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) used the occasion to announce its mortgages deal and its ‘drive home’ campaign.

In order to make the process simple and the acquisition of a home easy, patrons will have access to a suite of housing products, including the ‘switch mortgage’, where persons with an existing mortgage at another financial institution can have it moved to GBTI at no additional cost and also with a better interest rate.

The other product to be introduced is where persons can be given the equity for their homes to do whatever they want, such as purchasing a vehicle, take a vacation, get married or simply upgrade their homes even as interest rates across all mortgage lines have been lowered.

In addition to that, Pamela Binda, GBTI’s Public Relations Officer, explained that persons who are prequalified with GBTI for a housing loan can win a new Toyota SUV.

Unicomer Guyana (Courts)

Courts Guyana, through its Ashley Home Furnishing brand, is also participating in a major way, providing furnishing for the model homes to be constructed.
