Guyana won that four-nation competition in comprehensive fashion, and Ninvalle said this move is to keep the boxers active, while decentralizing the sport and also unearthing new talents.

“Our intention is to make sure that we can continue with the strategic activity for the Under-16s and juniors,” Ninvalle related.

“We want to make sure we keep them as active as possible. On the other hand, we want to make sure that there is some decentralizing of boxing.”

“This will be the first time in over two decades that the Boxing Association would be having activity in Rose Hall Town and our plan is that when we’re finished with this we head to Vergenoegen.”

Given the dominance of the Rose Hall Jammers boxing gym over the years, Ninvalle said “it is only right that residents of the area get a chance to see their young boxers not only training, but in actual competition.”

The venue is the Area ‘H’ ground and admission is $500. Showtime is 17:30h.
