Three men including a 17-year-old of Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara were on Monday charged for the armed robbery committed on a policewoman.
The two others are 21-year-old Roberto Louis of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo and 29-year-old Wendell Austin of Tucville Housing Compound, Georgetown.
The policewoman was identified as 27-year-old Stephanie Inderjeet of Providence, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
According to a police statement, on Thursday last Inderjeet was at Third Avenue Diamond when she was approached by the men who used a knife to rob her of her valuables.
The three accused appeared Monday at the Grove/Diamond Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Sunil Scarce where the charges were read to them.
Wendell Austin pleaded not guilty, while the teen and Roberto Louis pleaded guilty.
They were all remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to October 15, 2022.
