President Dr. Irfaan Ali said Guyanese will no longer spend lengthy periods waiting for healthcare services at health centres as the government will soon introduce an electronic system to manage appointments.
“We are building a future through which you will sit at home, use your mobile and you will make your clinic appointments so you don’t have to sit down three hours and waste time.
“You will know when is your appointment time,” President Ali on Monday evening during a community meeting at Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara.
The Guyanese Head of State said the new system will first be implemented at the new Campbellville Polyclinic. It will then be implemented countrywide.
This venture, the President explained, is part of efforts to digitalise public services all across the country.
